Follower Analysis
Social Media Followers Map
Fedica's followers map shows where your audience lives across X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Mastodon, and TikTok, down to the country, state or province, and city. Built for social media managers running more than one platform, Fedica turns that location data into better posting times, targeted regional campaigns, and locally relevant content, all from one dashboard.
Key Capabilities
What Fedica's Followers Map Shows You
Your followers map covers X (Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, Mastodon, and TikTok from one dashboard, so you're not switching tools to check each one. See follower locations by country, state, and city, visualized instantly on an interactive map or chart. TikTok reports country level only. Export the geographic stats for any connected platform.
How It Works
How Fedica's Followers Map Works
Fedica does the location analysis for you, on whichever platform you connect.
- Connect any of your X (Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, Mastodon, or TikTok accounts to Fedica.
- Fedica analyzes your followers on that platform to determine their location.
- Fedica plots those locations onto an interactive map or chart for you to explore.
- Classify the data by country, state or province, or city.
- Export the geographic stats for your records or reporting.
Use Cases
Why Track Where Your Followers Are
Follower location turns into a plan once you know what to do with it.
- Optimize posting time: line up your posting schedule with the time zones where your followers are actually active, instead of picking a time at random.
- Target regional marketing: shape your campaigns, announcements, or ad budget around the specific countries, states, or cities where your audience is concentrated.
- Build regional partnerships: identify clusters of engaged users or local influencers for sharper regional collaborations, events, or media outreach.
- Create locally relevant content: align your messaging and language with your community's actual cultural and regional makeup.
Platforms
Here's what's supported for each platform:
| Platform | Location level | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Country, state/province, city | Business/Creator accounts (minimum 100 followers) | |
| Country, state/province, city | Company pages only | |
| Mastodon | Country, state/province, city | Sampled profile data |
| TikTok | Country | |
| X (Twitter) | Country, state/province, city | Follower drill down and follower list export |
See Fedica's plans for full pricing details. Managing X (Twitter) only? See Fedica's X (Twitter) followers map for follower-list drill-down and export.
Instagram
Instagram Follower Map
Fedica maps your Instagram followers by country, state/province or city, showing where your audience is concentrated and which regions are growing. The Instagram account needs to be a Business or Creator account, and must have at least 100 followers.
Follower-level drilldown is not available on Instagram, only aggregate stats.
LinkedIn
LinkedIn Follower Map
Fedica maps your company's LinkedIn followers by country, state/province or city. The location data will include top cities but might not include all cities where followers come from.
Follower mapping for LinkedIn is only available for company (or showcase) pages and not available on personal accounts.
Useful for regional campaign targeting, event planning, or figuring out which markets your content actually reaches.
Mastodon
Mastodon Follower Map
Mastodon has no location field, so Fedica infers follower geography from profile mentions of geographic locations. Since this number is inferred from smaller samples, the number is an estimate and has lower accuracy than other platforms.
TikTok
TikTok Follower Map
Fedica maps your TikTok followers by country, showing which markets your content is reaching. City level data is not available for TikTok.
Helpful for matching posting times to where your audience is, or spotting a market you didn't know you'd reached.
X (Twitter)
X (Twitter) Follower Map
X follower maps have more capabilities than other platforms such as follower drill down and follower list exports. This is because the X API provides more data than the rest. Tweepsmap launched in 2011 to find X (Twitter) follower locations, then rebranded to Fedica and expanded into analysis and publishing across Instagram, LinkedIn, Mastodon, and TikTok. That expansion is where this followers map comes from. For the full "tweep" origin story and X (Twitter)-specific follower-list export, see Fedica's X (Twitter) followers map.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Where are my followers from?
- If you manage more than one account, the answer differs by platform — your LinkedIn audience is rarely in the same places as your TikTok one. Fedica maps each connected platform separately and shows them side by side, so you can compare X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Mastodon, and TikTok rather than checking five dashboards. Location resolves to country, state or province, and city, depending on what each platform exposes.
How does Fedica determine where my followers are located?
- It depends on the platform, since each one exposes different data. Instagram and LinkedIn report audience location directly, so those maps come from the platform's own figures. TikTok reports country only. Mastodon has no location field at all, so Fedica infers geography from profile text, which makes it an estimate rather than a count. The X data is based on profile location but not always filled, so it's highly accurate but not 100%. Connect an account and Fedica handles the analysis, then plots the results on an interactive map or chart.
Can I export the location data for my followers?
- Yes. Fedica lets you export the geographic stats for your follower base on any of the five supported platforms. On X (Twitter) you can also export the follower list itself for any location.
Can I see the actual list of followers in a location, not just a count?
- That depends on the platform. On X (Twitter), you can drill into any location to see and export the actual follower list. On Instagram, LinkedIn, Mastodon, and TikTok, Fedica shows the map and geographic stats, but not a drillable follower list for each location.
Is the followers map available on the Free plan?
- No. The followers map is available on Fedica's paid plans; it isn't included on the Free plan. Check Fedica's plans page for current tiers and pricing.
