Schedule Threads

Fedica's thread scheduler lets you schedule a full thread to post automatically at a given time, either chosen by you or picked automatically using Fedica's AI optimizer. Built for creators, social media managers, and agencies, thread scheduling is available on every Fedica plan, including Free. If you want more reach, you can optionally spread the thread's posts over minutes, hours, or days as a paid upgrade.

Why Schedule Threads with Fedica?

A thread lets you build a narrative: connect multiple points, or follow up on a post you shared earlier, in a way a single post can't. Most importantly, threads expand automatically in the feed, catching more attention than a single post does. Fedica's thread scheduling also works on Bluesky, Mastodon, and Threads, not just X.

  • Automatic numbering: number each post in your thread automatically, if you want it.
  • Batch creation: sit down once and plan out an entire week or month's worth of threads.
  • No context-switching: write everything ahead of time on your own schedule, without getting pulled into a mobile app or resizing media mid-task.
  • Streamlined collaboration: give teammates or clients a chance to review, edit, and sign off on thread content and attachments before anything goes live.

Threads also go out at the moments your followers are actually online, including nights and weekends you'd otherwise miss. If you want even more reach, Spread is a paid option that posts each part of the thread minutes, hours, or days apart, so every post gets its own moment in your followers' timeline.

In a 30-day case study, spreading a thread out took the first post's impressions to 2,417% above baseline, and the rest of the thread still averaged 75% higher impressions than standard posts.

Two Ways to Schedule a Thread, Plus Automatic Splitting

Fedica gives you two ways to schedule a thread. Add to Pipeline sets how many times per day posts go out via Pipeline (for example, once per day). Specific Date works just like regular posts in Fedica's Post Scheduler: choose the exact date and time yourself, or let Fedica pick it automatically based on your followers' activity. Optionally, turn on Spread (a paid feature) to space the thread's posts out over time instead of posting the whole thread at once, with a gap you set yourself (for example, 2 hours apart).

  • Bulk upload: upload threads in bulk via CSV or Excel.
  • RSS feed auto-split: if your imported RSS content is too long for one post, Fedica automatically splits it into a thread. See how to set up RSS feeds.
  • Composer auto-split prompt: paste or type text longer than the platform's character limit, and Fedica's composer prompts you to split it into a thread automatically.
How to schedule threads

How Thread Scheduling Works

  1. Open the Fedica composer from "Create Post" under Publish.
  2. Write your first post, then click "Add a thread post" to add more posts to the thread.
  3. Fill in the box for each additional post as you go.
  4. Type text that's too long for one post, and a "Thread automatically" button appears: click it to split the text into multiple posts.
  5. Paste text that's too long, and Fedica asks whether to split it automatically.
  6. Click "Schedule" and pick Add to Pipeline or Specific Date from the dropdown that appears.
  7. Choose the date and time yourself, or let Fedica pick the optimal time based on your followers' activity.
  8. Optionally, turn on "Spread Posts" to space the thread's posts out over time (paid feature).

Bonus: skip composing by hand and import long content via RSS or a bulk CSV/Excel upload formatted for threads.

Who Schedules X (Twitter) Threads

Creators, businesses, and professionals all use scheduled threads for different reasons, but they all come down to getting more out of each post.
  • Ambitious creators building an audience: X threads are what growth-minded creators rely on.
  • Businesses growing their reach: spread a thread's posts out to grab more real estate in followers' timelines.
  • Professionals unpacking complex topics: use a thread when an idea doesn't fit in one post, or when it branches into several related points that flow naturally as separate posts.
  • Staying visible over time: keep followers engaged over minutes to days, well past a single post's brief lifespan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Fedica support posting and scheduling Twitter threads?

Yes. Fedica, called Tweepsmap at the time, was the first social media management platform to support scheduling X (Twitter) threads, starting in early 2019.

Does Fedica support threads on platforms besides X?

Fedica's thread scheduler works on Bluesky, Mastodon, and Threads as well as X (Twitter), so you can schedule threads across every platform Fedica supports for this feature.

What does Fedica's X (Twitter) thread scheduler do?

Fedica's X (Twitter) thread scheduler lets you schedule an entire thread by either posting it all at once, or spreading each post in the thread out over minutes, hours, or days.

What are the two ways to schedule a thread?

Fedica gives you two ways to schedule a thread: Add to Pipeline, which sets how many times per day your threads go out, and a specific date and time, either chosen by you or picked automatically based on your followers' activity.

Is thread scheduling free, or do I need a paid plan?

Thread scheduling is available on every Fedica plan, including Free — you don't need a paid subscription to schedule and post a thread. That covers both ways to schedule: Add to Pipeline and a specific date and time. Spreading a thread's posts out over time, with a gap between each post, is a separate, optional feature reserved for paid plans. If you're not spreading posts, thread scheduling itself costs nothing.

Can I bulk-upload threads?

Fedica supports bulk-uploading threads via CSV or Excel, so you can schedule many threads at once without composing each one individually.

What happens if my RSS feed content is too long for one post?

If your RSS feed content is too long for a single post, Fedica automatically splits it into a thread instead of cutting it off — see Fedica's guide on how to set up RSS feeds for the full setup process.

What if I type or paste text longer than the platform's character limit?

If you paste or type text longer than the platform's character limit, Fedica's composer prompts you to split it into a thread automatically.
