The Fedica team believes that we can do much more than just identify who you’re connected to on social networks – we provide tools to dig into the where.
Location is an increasingly important part of the social web. Using Fedica, you can target customers in your region, understand what cities the majority of your Twitter followers are from, or take a look at the countries your account is most popular in.
We’re hard at work expanding Fedica onto networks beyond Twitter, and adding new location-based features that you and your business can use to pinpoint your connections down to a science.
And, as this is our very first blog post, we thought we’d take a moment to introduce ourselves.

Samir Al-Battran is a Canadian entrepreneur and software architect. He is the founder of Fedica and co-founder of RentCompass.
Throughout his career Samir worked on a variety of technologies and products, ranging from shrink wrapped software such as the world renown WordPerfect Office to web based systems like Nielsen’s Answers Web, or mobile embedded and telematics systems at Bell Canada. He also worked on a range of medical imaging systems including the leading ophthalmology and PACS systems as well as the most advanced zero foot-print medical imaging viewer. He co-founded RentCompass, the first Canadian service for finding rentals on mobile devices, and also created the first Canadian Facebook app for finding rentals.
In 2011 he realized a gap in location based social media analytics, and he founded Fedica, to provide visualization of Twitter followers on an interactive map or chart, which proved to be a big hit with Twitter users across the globe.
In his spare time, Samir likes to build free Android apps, some of which are amongst the most downloaded apps in Canada.
